Description: We are seeking an experienced Senior Research Associate / Research Associate to join our Pharmacology group. The successful candidate will apply his/her pharmacology expertise to advance our lead projects.

Responsibilities:
A research associate position is available in the Pharmacology group for a highly motivated individual to support the in vivo studies group. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting efficacy studies in rodents to establish preliminary efficacy. These aspects of the job would entail small animal handling techniques and surgery, preparing and administering test compounds, recording data assessments using physiological recording instrumentation and sample collection and processing with various laboratory instrumentation. Additional responsibilities for this position would focus on general lab managerial duties such as stocking and ordering supplies, maintaining lab cleanliness, autoclaving supplies and appropriately disposing of biohazardous and chemical waste. The individual will also be expected to perform limited administrative functions such as attending select meetings, taking equipment and supply inventory, preparation of work schedules, etc. The preferred candidate may be involved in planning and executing external safety or efficacy studies in large animal model of efficacy which take place at external facilities under sponsored research agreements with academic and contract facilities. This includes qualification of laboratories, planning and finalizing study design, supply of study drug, project management and report review. The candidate will also interact closely with in-house staff in chemistry, biochemistry and analytical staff as needed to ensure a progression of programs.
Requirements:
5+ years experience in biopharmaceutical environment. Bachelors or Masters in Pharmacology/Toxicology or related discipline is required.
Broad experience in in vivo models of disease particularly in cardiovascular and pulmonary physiology. Previous participation in conducting studies through external collaborations including managing all aspects of pre-clinical studies to final report stage. Excellent organization skills required. Through knowledge of statistical methods and excellent oral and written communication skills.
