Educational Activities

Ikaria also supports educational initiatives that promote improvements in patient care. We believe that, little by little, we can positively impact the practice of critical care medicine and the patients within. Read more

Grant Review Process
Our grant review process is administered through our Medical Affairs Department. Currently, we’re interested in supporting research that explores the effects of inhaled niitric oxide (iNO) upon:

  • Adult and pediatric cardiothoracic surgery
Specifically, post-operative pulmonary hypertension, left ventricular assist device, heart transplant, valve repair, and congenital heart defects
  • Anti-inflammatory properties in pulmonary and nonpulmonary ischemia-reperfusion injury
We’re looking to support research within the areas of organ transplant, acute respiratory distress syndrome, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, and cardiovascular surgery
  • Organ transplant
We would like to support research exploring the effects of inhaled nitric oxide related to ischemia-reperfusion injury, cell protection, immunologic response, anti-inflammatory response, and reduced pulmonary vascular resistance
