
David E. Shaw
Executive Chairman and Chairman of the Board

Mr. Shaw has served as Chairman of the Board since March 2007, Executive Chairman since January 2008, and Chief Executive Officer from April 2007 to January 2008. Mr. Shaw is Managing Director of Black Point Group, a private investment company, and a Partner with Venrock Associates, a venture capital firm. He served as a Senior Advisor to New Mountain Capital, a private equity firm, from 2005 to 2007. He is the founder and retired CEO of IDEXX Laboratories, Inc., and has been a director and/or founding investor of several high-technology companies including Microbia, Fetch, Cytyc, Exact Sciences, Skinetics Biosciences, Magen BioSciences, Ikaria and others. His career has also included management consulting, public service and numerous non-profit organizations including The Jackson Laboratory, Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government, the US-Israel Science and Technology Commission, the Council on Foreign Relations, YPO/CEO, Outward Bound, Maine Medical Center and others.

Daniel Tassé
President and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Tassé is President and Chief Executive Officer of Ikaria Holdings, Inc. Prior to joining Ikaria he served as General Manager of Baxter International’s Pharmaceuticals & Technologies business, a division created by integrating the company’s Anesthesia, Critical Care and BioPharma Solutions Business units. Prior to his tenure at Baxter International, Mr. Tassé held senior management positions at GlaxoSmithKline and Upjohn. He has a B.Sc. in Biochemistry from the University of Montreal.

Aldo E. Belloni
Director, Linde Group
Dr. Belloni has been a member of the Executive Board of the Linde Group since 2000. In this position, he has been responsible for: Europe and Middle East, Global Business Unit Healthcare, Innovation Management and the Engineering Division. He has held various executive positions of increasing responsibility with Linde since 1980. He has a doctorate from the Milan Polytechnic Institute in chemical engineering.

Michael T. Flaherman
Managing Director, New Mountain Capital
Michael Flaherman, Managing Director, joined the New Mountain team in January 2003. Before joining New Mountain, Mr. Flaherman most recently served as Chairman of the Investment Committee of CalPERS, the nation’s largest pension system with approximately $150 billion in assets. In his capacity as chairman, Mr. Flaherman led board decision-making on all aspects of CalPERS’ investment strategy, including asset allocation, as well as CalPERS’ investment program in domestic and international equity and fixed income, real estate and private equity. His role also included oversight responsibility of CalPERS’ investment operations, comprising 130 investment staff and nearly 300 external investment manager and consultant relationships. Mr. Flaherman is a graduate of Harvard College and has a master’s degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He is a director of National Medical Health Card Systems, Inc.

Douglas F. Londal
Managing Director, New Mountain Capital

Douglas F. Londal, Managing Director, joined New Mountain in 2004. He was a member of the Mergers & Acquisitions Department of Goldman, Sachs & Co. from 1991 to 1995. Most recently, Mr. Londal was a Managing Director in the Principal Investment Area of Goldman Sachs from 1995 to 2004, where he was responsible for investing on behalf of GS Capital Partners 2000, L.P. ($5.25 billion fund) and GS Mezzanine Partners III, L.P. ($2.7 billion fund). Among other positions at Goldman Sachs, Mr. Londal has served as co-head of the Merchant Banking investing effort in the Americas, and has been directly involved in investing over $1.5 billion in private equity and mezzanine in transactions valued at over $8 billion. Mr. Londal is the non-executive chairman of MailSouth, Inc. and is a director of Connextions, Inc., Inmar, Inc. and Oakleaf Global Holdings, Inc. Prior to joining New Mountain Capital, Mr. Londal served as chairman of Village Voice Media, LLC, and as a director of 21st Century Newspapers, Inc., Berry Plastics Corporation, Meadowbrook Meat Company, Inc., Mack Printing Group, Medical Arts Press Inc., NextMedia Investors, LLC, Orion Power Holding, Inc., Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Inc. and Sensus Metering Systems Inc. Mr. Londal received his B.A. in economics from the University of Michigan in 1987 and his M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business in 1991.

Robert Nelsen is managing director and co-founder of ARCH Venture Partners, one of America’s leading early-stage technology venture capital firms, with over $1 billion under management.
Nelsen concentrates on the creation of new companies from early stage technologies that originates at universities and national laboratories. He led the formation and initial funding round of Ikaria, Inc., Everyday Learning Corporation, Adolor Corporation, Netbot, Inc. and Optobionics Corporation.
Nelsen was also responsible for ARCH’s early investments in Aviron, Inc., Caliper Life Sciences, Illumina, Inc., deCode Genetics, Inc., GenVec, Inc., Genomica Corporation, Alnylam, Inc., Xenoport, Inc., Neurogesx, Inc., Xcyte Therapies, Inc., R2 Technology, Inc., Elixir, Array BioPharma, Inc., Trubion, Inc., Surface Logix, Ensemble and Amphora.
Nelsen is a past or present director for Adolor Corporation (ADLR), Caliper Life Sciences (CALP), Xcyte Therapies, Inc. (XCYT), Illumina, Inc. (ILMN), Everyday Learning Corporation and a chairman of Netbot, Inc., and is a board observer on Cambrios, Ensemble and, previously, Nanosys.
He holds a B.S. in biology and economics from The University of Puget Sound and an MBA from The University of Chicago.

Bryan E. Roberts, Ph.D.

Bryan Roberts, Ph.D. is a general partner in the Menlo Park, California office of Venrock Associates, the venture capital arm of the Rockefeller family. His work focuses on the firm's investments in entrepreneurs and early-stage health care companies.
Roberts currently serves on the boards of several public and private companies in fields ranging from drug discovery and development to medical devices, healthcare information technology and nanotechnology. Roberts is involved in numerous companies, including Athenahealth, Microbia, Intarcia, Nanosys, Satiety, Sirna Therapeutics, Vitae, and Xenoport.
From 1989 to 1992, Roberts worked in corporate finance and investment banking at Kidder, Peabody & Co. He earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Dartmouth College and a doctorate in chemistry and chemical biology from Harvard University.

Alok Singh

Alok Singh, Managing Director, joined New Mountain Capital in 2002. He was a founding member and Managing Director of the Bankers Trust Securities Mergers & Acquisitions Group (1984-1992). As Senior Managing Director for Bankers Trust Securities (1992-1997), he was responsible for the firm’s investment banking activities in the consumer and retail sectors and led its relationships with a number of major multi-industry and consumer product clients. Mr. Singh was elected to the Partnership Group of Bankers Trust Company in 1994. Subsequently, Mr. Singh served in the Financial Sponsors Group of Deutsche Bank Alex Brown (1997-2001). Most recently, Mr. Singh led the Corporate Financial Advisory Group for the Americas for Barclays Capital, where he established the group upon joining the firm in March 2001. Mr. Singh is non-executive chairman of Overland Solutions, Inc., lead director of Deltek Systems, Inc. and a director of Apptis, Inc. and Validus Holdings, Ltd. He received his B.A. in economics and history from New York University in 1974 and his M.B.A. in Finance from New York University in 1975. Mr. Singh is a fellow of the Foreign Policy Association, a member of the Economic Club of New York and a member of the advisory board of Sonenshine Partners.

Lota S. Zoth
Former Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, MedImmune, Inc.

Ms. Lota Zoth was elected as an independent member of the Board and chair of the Audit Committee in December 2007. Ms. Zoth served as MedImmune’s senior vice president and chief financial officer from 2004 until 2007, when MedImmune was acquired by AstraZeneca. Prior to MedImmune, Ms. Zoth was senior vice president and corporate controller for PSINet, Inc. Between 1998 and 2000, Ms. Zoth was vice president, corporate controller and chief accounting officer of Sodexho Marriott Services, Inc. Prior to Sodexho Marriott, Ms. Zoth was vice president, financial analysis, for Marriott International, Inc.’s food and management services division. Between 1991 and 1997, Ms. Zoth held various positions of increasing responsibility in the PepsiCo, Inc. organization, including assistant controller of field services for Eastern Europe, Western Europe, the Middle East and North Africa for Pepsi-Cola International. From 1982 to 1991, she was on the audit staff of Ernst & Young. Ms. Zoth is a CPA and received a B.B.A. in accounting from Texas Tech University in 1982, graduating summa cum laude. In 2000, Ms. Zoth was named Texas Tech’s Distinguished Accounting Alumnus, an annual award designated for outstanding contributions to the field of accounting.
